The Nitty-Gritty

This thing was born for the grind of a blow molder. We matched the tube length to the standard heating zone—often around 300mm of active heating—and packed in the wattage so the preform hits melt temperature fast. And the high-voltage design? Usually 400V. That keeps the current lower on the line side, which helps prevent voltage drop over long runs. The payoff: the lamp stays happy and doesn’t burn out from being starved of voltage.

What It’s Made Of

Quartz tube, plain and simple. It handles sudden temperature swings and stays clear in the infrared band, so the heat gets through cleanly. Inside, the halogen cycle protects the filament, which keeps output steady over the life of the lamp. Many versions come with an IR-reflective coating that pushes energy forward, giving you more heat density on the preform. Then there’s the R7s bi-pin end-cap. Mechanical fit, electrical fit—drop it in, wire it up, and you’re running. No adapters. No fuss.

How It Performs—And What It Asks For

On a PET blowing line, you need heat that’s fast and even so you can keep cycle times tight. This lamp delivers that control in a small footprint. Here’s the trade-off: that high heat density means your machine’s cooling and airflow have to be up to the job. If the area around the heater gets too hot, output dips and the lamp life shortens.
