Introduction
We built this 508mm, 1500W halogen near-wave infrared lamp for one reason: when your industrial heating needs demand a fast response and a seriously compact heat source, you need something that just gets on with the job. It’s built around a quartz envelope, a halogen cycle, and a near-wave spectrum. The payoff? You can drive heat straight into your target without turning the rest of your equipment into a sauna.
Power, Voltage, and Size—Let’s Get Practical
We went with 1500W because you need serious heat density in a small footprint. At 508mm (that’s 20 inches) long, you get a generous, even heating zone—yet it still slips into machines where space is tight. The near-wave infrared profile is the secret sauce. It focuses energy where a lot of polymers and coatings actually soak it up best, so you get rapid temperature rise with way less wasted heat. Voltage is matched to the wattage and the lamp’s internal resistance. If you choose a higher-voltage version, you lower the current draw on the wiring and power supply, which helps keep control panels cooler. If you go with a lower-voltage version, you can wire it straight to standard industrial supplies. Either way, the lamp has to be matched to the control circuit and the thermal load. And because this is high wattage in a small package, the reflector and mounting hardware get hot—so your machine needs proper airflow or heat shielding.
What’s Inside: Halogen, Quartz, and Smart Connections
Halogen technology keeps the filament clean through the halogen cycle. That means stable output and a longer life compared to standard infrared lamps. The quartz envelope handles high filament temperatures and shrugs off thermal shock when you switch the lamp on and off quickly. Depending on the exact variant, we use R7s or SK15 terminations. These double-ended connectors lock in solid mechanical retention and give you repeatable alignment inside reflector fixtures. The contacts handle high current, and the ceramic base holds up to the heat right near the target zone.
Where It Shines—and What It Feels Like to Use
This setup is a go-to for fast, localized heating in plastic processing, coating curing, and material forming. The near-wave output hits the absorption sweet spot for many plastics, so you can heat quickly without scorching the surface. The 508mm length gives you a usable heating width, and the 1500W power has the punch to keep up with production rates. Installation? Drop the lamp into the reflector, align the pins, and wire it to the right terminal block. Simple. Just remember: you’re dealing with high heat density, so plan for heat management in the machine. Run the lamp at the rated voltage, keep the target distance within the recommended window, and you’ll get repeatable heating performance with minimal fuss.
