If you’ve ever dealt with short-wave IR, you know it can be a bit too aggressive—it hits the surface hard and fast, but doesn’t always get deep into the material. That’s why we went with a medium-wave spectrum for these. It’s more of a “slow soak.” The heat actually penetrates thicker materials evenly, so you aren’t just scorching the top layer. The power side of things We set these at 415V because that’s what most industrial three-phase grids are running. At 2000W over a 950mm stretch, you’re getting a ton of heat in a very small space. It’s efficient. But here’s a heads-up: running at 415V puts some real stress on the ends of the lamp. To keep them from burning out the moment you flip the switch, make sure your voltage regulators are dialed in to handle those initial startup surges. Why the SK15 ceramic caps matter We use SK15 ceramic connectors for the ends. Why? Because plastic or cheap alloys just can’t take the heat. They warp. They degrade. The ceramics don’t. They stay solid through constant heating and cooling cycles, which means your electrical contact stays tight and the lamp doesn’t wiggle around in the housing. Plus, they’re pretty much a plug-and-play fit for most standard medium-wave setups. A few things to watch out for These lamps are powerhouses, but they’re a bit picky. First,**don’t touch the glass.**Seriously. If you get skin oils on the quartz envelope, it creates hot spots. Those spots lead to cracks, and then you’ve got a broken lamp. Grab some lint-free gloves before you install them. Also, 2000W generates a lot of ambient heat. If your cabinet ventilation isn’t up to the task, you’re going to trip your thermal cut-offs. Make sure there’s plenty of airflow. These are built for the heavy lifting—curing, drying, and PET blowing lines where you just need the heat to be consistent, every single time.
