That’s great because you don’t have to worry as much about electrical arcing, even if things get a little damp or your enclosure is tight. And the speed? It’s fast. Really fast. Because all that power is packed into a tiny quartz tube, it hits operating temperature almost the second you flip the switch. No waiting around. Why quartz and halogen actually matter We use quartz glass because the inside of these things gets incredibly hot—way hotter than regular glass could handle. Then there’s the “halogen cycle.” Without it, the tungsten from the filament would just bake onto the inside of the glass, turning the bulb black and killing your heat output.
